1 tsp. Herbsaint (or Pernod or Ricard)
2 oz. rye or bourbon
1 tsp. simple syrup
3 dashes Peychaud's bitters
Lemon twist
Coat the inside of a chilled cocktail glass with the Herbsaint and discard the excess. Stir the remaining ingredients vigorously with ice and strain into the prepared cocktail glass. Twist the lemon peel over the drink, and drop it in.
